In the latest transfer news,
Tiong Bahru FC has expressed interest in signing midfield kingpin Shawal Rosly, prying him away from the
Reds outfit. Though details are still sketchy, the NFL team has confirmed its interest in the player, stating that such a signing would greatly increase their chances of winning the league and thus gaining promotion into the S-League.
Both player and manager were seen in deep discussion at
Breko's along the trendy Holland Road district though both declined comment when approached. A day later, the
Reds skipper issued an official statement to the media in a bid to quell any rumour mongering.
"I had a very honest talk with the player just this evening and he expressed nothing but confidence in the club. He also categorically denied any rumours that he has been unhappy with the performance of the squad and quashed any doubt that has had trouble fitting in," said Alex.
"However it is only realistic that he seriously consider the offer by Tiong Bahru FC as they are a first rate club and he (Shawal) is a player with a bright future," conceded the skipper when further questioned as to the permanency of the stand-in captain.
"All I can say is that he has the club's very best interest at heart, and vice versa. If his future lies elsewher then we will not stand in the way. Though of course we would very much like for him to remain."
